6-Day Itinerary, day by day
(Tuesdays to Sundays. Other days possible by arrangement)
|Airport pick-up and drive to Pippa’s Paddock.
|Lunch on our terrace. The terrace overlooks our beloved Gurfa valley and makes for a lovely setting to enjoy a meal with friends.
|Some free time – Relax, possibly meet some horses, go for a walk… We can drive anyone who wishes it into the nearby village for a snoop around, perhaps a good coffee
Dinner in a great restaurant in a nearby village. Food is superb.
|Tour a castle with superb history, a lot of it linked to the Great Siege of Malta of 1565. The castle was in daily use as the noble family home until 1968 when it was sold to the Italian government and opened to the public. For this reason it is one of the best maintained castles of this era and has a long and fascinating history.
|Spend most of the day in a small modest private club on a lake. We will be having a picnic lunch here. Canoes and pedaloes are available and showers for the end of the day.
|View the dam that holds up the lake…
|Dinner in the castle restaurant. We have a selection of set menus or can savour one of the best pizzas around!
If we feel like, pop over to a lovely garden pub for a drink or two. (Drinks not included)
For those interested, they can try a ride on one of our horses. We shall give a brief basic lesson and possibly walk out on a very short ride. The riding will be mostly in our arena, but we might venture out on a short ride if we think the riders are up to it.
Alternatively we can drop you off in town for a wander around, or you can simply relax and enjoy the countryside.
|Lunch will be on our terrace.
|In the evening we visit a 2500 year-old town that time really forgot. This once fortified village is inhabited by only 350 people. Practically, the only visitors ever seen here are our guests and the feeling is sensational…
We dine in a family run agriturismo on our way back from the ancient town.
|In the morning, we visit an interesting museum in our village which especially highlights the pre-historic caves after which our “Gurfa” valley is named. Later that same morning we visit the caves themselves and learn the stories behind them…
|Lunch/Dinner will be a big bbq. This usually lasts well into the night.
If anyone wishes it, we can drive into town for some drinks at the bars (drinks not included) or simply stay out on the terrace and enjoy our drinks there..
|We spend most of the day at a lovely beach resort. Bar, refreshments and shower available… (lunch and refreshments not included)
|This is an optional extra. Paragliding is quite an experience (click here to see more). For those who do not wish to do this, they can choose between coming up the mountain to spectate or remain on the beach where they shall be picked up afterwards. (Cost of the jump €120)
|A walk through the ancient historic centre of Cefalu, with its many quiant shops and bars. We’ll stop for an aperitif…
And finally, dinner at one of the prettiest restaurants in the town, right on the sea edge. In the picture it is the one with the lit up balcony…
Departure day itinerary is not set out. It will al depend on departure times of the flights. We will find a nice program when the flights are known… For Maltese travellers, where we are aware that some shopping time is appreciated, we think the afternoon on the way to the airport would be an ideal time.
