At the Gurfa Valley, we are lucky and our summers usually last well past Xmas… and start again by march or April. So we almost eagerly await winter and the water bearing rains or snow. But this year we were truly caught out.
Summer dragged and dragged… Xmas arrived and it was still warm and sunny. Not that we were complaining about that !! But the water shortage was starting to concern us. With the horses drinking around 1500 litres of water a day to add to over 1000 litres for our own use, you can see why a good abundant supply is necessary. And our springs were starting to struggle after over 7 months of not a drop of rain…
Then it came ! Wow, did it come. On the 29th December we were still in bright sunny weather, on the 31st we were snow bound.

Dificult to say Steve. Possible. It usually doesn't snow this early in the year, mid-February being more probable…
